Ontario Premier on COVID-19, $116.5M for the Creation of Hospital Beds
Ontario Premier Doug Ford makes an announcement in Brampton and responds to questions about his government’s response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Christine Elliott (deputy premier and minister of health); Prabmeet Singh Sarkaria (MPP for Brampton South), as well as Patrick Brown (mayor of Brampton) and Dr. Naveed Mohammad (president and CEO of Osler). The premier announces that the Ontario government will provide $116.5 million to create up to 766 more beds at 32 hospitals and alternate health facilities across the province.
