Quebec Announces New COVID-19 Restrictions for Holiday Season
In Montreal, Quebec Premier François Legault provides an update on the province's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Christian Dubé, Quebec's minister of health and social services, and Dr. Horacio Arruda, the province's director of public health. The premier announces new restrictions for the holiday season. Stores deemed non-essential will be ordered to close from December 25 to January 11. Large-volume stores will also have to close sections where non-essential products are displayed. Premier Legault also announces that, between December 17 and January 11, all regions currently in yellow zones will temporarily move to orange, while regions in orange zones will move to red.
