COVID-19: Canada Responds

COVID-19 in N.B.: Lockdown for Edmundston Region – April 10, 2021

In Fredericton, Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health, and Dorothy Shephard, the New Brunswick health minister, provide an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. In her remarks, Dr. Russell announces that Edmundston and the upper Madawaska region will enter full lockdown as of midnight. Other communities in Zone 4 will stay at their current alert level. The heightened restrictions come following an increase in cases of apparent community transmission of COVID-19 in the Edmundston region. In addition, Minister Shephard announces that high school students’ return to in-class instruction will be delayed province-wide. (no interpretation)
