COVID-19: Canada Responds
Manitoba Launches COVID-19 Reopening Plan – June 10, 2021
In Winnipeg, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister and Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief public health officer, announce the province’s plan to gradually lift public-health restrictions in place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The plan is tied to immunization targets, with businesses, services and facilities allowed to reopen at 25 per cent capacity once 70 per cent of Manitobans aged 12 and over have received their first dose and 25 per cent have received their second dose. Capacities can increase to 50 per cent, and gathering limits can increase, once the province reaches 75 per cent first dose immunization and 50 per cent second dose rates. Once first and second dose rates reach 80 per cent and 75 per cent, respectively, all businesses and services can open fully with limited restrictions. (no interpretation)
