Wet’suwet’en: Ottawa Protestors Hold News Conference
Indigenous youth speak with reporters in Ottawa about their protest in support of the Wet’suwet’en Nation. The youth and allies from Indigenous Solidarity Ottawa, Climate Justice Ottawa, and Future Rising Ottawa are occupying the lobby of the Department of Justice building in Ottawa, where they want to meet with Justice Minister David Lametti. The group is calling on the RCMP to leave the blockade in northern British Columbia set up by members of the Wet’suwet’en Nation who oppose construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline. The $6.6-billion pipeline would transport natural gas from the Dawson Creek area to the LNG Canada facility near Kitimat, B.C. Other protests have been held across the country in support of the Wet'suwet'en. (February 11, 2020) (no interpretation)
