Update on Resumption of Cyclone Helicopter Flights – June 16, 2020
In Ottawa, officials from the Canadian Armed Forces discuss the plan to lift the operational pause on the Royal Canadian Air Force’s CH-148 Cyclone helicopter fleet. Speaking with reporters are Lieutenant-General Alain Pelletier, Brigadier-General Nancy Tremblay and Colonel John Alexander. The fleet was temporarily grounded as a safety precaution after a CH-148 Cyclone helicopter crashed off the coast of Greece on April 29, 2020, during a NATO training exercise. Six CAF members were killed in the accident. An investigation is still underway and will focus on aircraft systems and human factors.
