Investigation Update on Alleged B.C. Hospital Staff Racism – July 9, 2020
Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond, a former judge and British Columbia's former children's advocate, holds a news conference in Victoria to provide an update on her investigation into allegations of racist practices by hospital employees in the province. Emergency room staff in at least one hospital allegedly played a game to guess the blood-alcohol levels of patients, in particular of Indigenous people. Turpel-Lafond was appointed by the B.C. government to investigate the claims. (no interpretation)
