PM Trudeau on New Brunswick Election, Tariff Countermeasures – Sept. 15, 2020

Speaking with reporters as the second day of a two-day cabinet retreat gets underway in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau comments on the outcome of the September 14, 2020, New Brunswick general election, in which Blaine Higgs’s Progressive Conservatives won a majority of seats. The prime minister also indicates that his government will soon announce retaliatory measures in response to the United States’ imposition of a ten per cent tariff on imports of raw Canadian aluminum.
