NDP Leader on Anti-Asian Racism, U of O Professor's Quebec Comments
NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh holds a news conference on Parliament Hill ahead of a vote in the House of Commons on his party's long-term care motion. The NDP is calling on the federal government to transition existing for-profit long-term care homes to non-profit facilities by 2030. The NDP leader is also asked about anti-Asian racism. The previous day, MPs unanimously passed Singh's motion to condemn the rise of anti-Asian racism and racist attacks in North America, in wake of the recent mass shooting in Atlanta. He also faces questions about party MP Matthew Green congratulating University of Ottawa law professor Amir Attaran over his tweets that Quebec is led by a white supremacist government.
