Ontario Ministers Highlight Health-Care Funding for Ottawa
At a press conference at the Carlington Community Health Centre in Ottawa, Dr. Merrilee Fullerton, Ontario’s minister of long-term care, and Peter Bethlenfalvy, the provincial finance minister, highlight a $5.1-million investment from the recently tabled 2021 provincial budget that will go towards the expansion of the health centre. They also discuss funding to build a new treatment centre for children in the city to reduce the need for families to travel to multiple facilities. The ministers are joined by Cameron MacLeod, executive director of the Carlington Community Health Centre, as well as local MPPs Lisa McLeod (Nepean) and Jeremy Roberts (Ottawa West - Nepean). Minister Fullerton responds to questions from the media on reports of vaccine hesitancy among long-term care workers and and whether her government is considering mandatory vaccination as a condition of employment in these facilities.
