During a virtual news conference, several federal and provincial ministers announce a global 500-million-dollar financial package to enable the construction of the light-rail transit network (“REM”) station at the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. This station will connect downtown Montreal to the airport via a public transit service. The following ministers take part in the event: on the federal level, Omar Alghabra (Transport) and Catherine McKenna (Infrastructure), as well as Pablo Rodriguez (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons); and, on the provincial level, Pierre Fitzgibbon (Economy) and Chantal Rouleau (Transport). They are joined by Ehren Cory (Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Infrastructure Bank), Philippe Rainville (Aéroports de Montréal President and Chief Executive Officer) as well as Valérie Plante (Montreal Mayor).
