Ontario Announces Support for French-Language Education – June 17, 2021
At a news conference in Toronto, Stephen Lecce, Ontario's minister of education, announces the details of a four-year, $12.5 million plan to recruit, train and retain more French teachers. He is joined by his parliamentary secretary Sam Oosterhoff, as well as by Ross Romano, the provincial minister of colleges and universities; Stan Cho, the MPP for Willowdale; Yves Lévesque, director general of the Association franco-ontarienne des conseils scolaires catholique; Isabelle Girard, assistant executive director of the Association des conseils scolaires des écoles publiques de l'Ontario; and Melinda Chartrand, chair of the Conseil scolaire catholique.
