WE Charity Scandal: MPs Hear from Conflict of Interest Experts
Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics - August 10, 2020: The committee continues its study of the controversy surrounding how the now-cancelled $900-million sole-sourced contract was awarded to the WE Charity Foundation. WE Charity was tasked to administer a student-volunteering program, but backed away from the contract after personal connections between the organization, the prime minister and finance minister came to light. Participating in the study are Duff Conacher (Democracy Watch), Chris MacDonald (Ryerson University), and Robert Czerny, former president of the Ethics Practitioners’ Association of Canada.
