WE Charity Scandal: Bloc Aims for a Re-do Over Votes
Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics - November 2, 2020: The Bloc Québécois attempt to negate last week’s vote on Conservative MP Michael Barrett’s motion from early October. Last week, after weeks of filibustering by Liberal MPs, Bloc MP Julie Vignola voted with the Liberals to vote down Barrett’s motion. The Bloc Québécois say MP Vignola’s vote was done by mistake due to technology. The motion called for the committee to obtain records of all paid speaking appearances made by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, since 2008. After failing to negate last week’s vote, Bloc MP Marie-Hélène Gaudreau puts forward another motion concerning access to documents related to the prime minister’s paid speaking appearances.
