Romeo Saganash on National Truth and Reconciliation Day Bill

Canadian Heritage – November 16, 2020:

Former NDP MP Romeo Saganash weighs in on Bill C-5, legislation that would make the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation a federal holiday. If passed, the new statutory holiday would be observed on September 30, which is also Orange Shirt Day— a day to remember the legacy of residential schools in Canada.

Also speaking to the committee are National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation’s Stephanie Scott and Stephen Kakfwi, as well as Orange Shirt Society’s Phyllis Webstad.
