WE Charity Scandal: Founders Craig and Marc Kielburger Face Questions

Finance – July 28, 2020 – Part 2:

WE Charity founders Craig and Marc Kielburger testify before the committee about how their organization was awarded the now-cancelled $900-million sole-sourced contract to administer a federal grants program for student volunteers.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Finance Minister Bill Morneau have both apologized for not recusing themselves from cabinet discussions concerning the contract despite the WE organization’s ties to their families. The prime minister and the finance minister are also facing probes by the federal ethics commissioner for potential violations of the Conflict of Interest Act.
