The shock wave continues to be felt following the discovery of the remains of 215 Indigenous children in British Columbia, near a former residential school. The Chief of the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador, Ghislain Picard, tells us about the consequences of this discovery for the First Nations and the future excavations to come.

Ottawa will provide a $ 27 million grant to support Indigenous communities who wish to initiate research around the sites that once housed residential schools to identify the remains of deceased residents.
