France–Canada Symposium
On March 7, 2008, essayist and novelist John Ralston Saul addresses the opening ceremony of the France–Canada Symposium in Paris with a speech entitled "L'Évolution du Canada et de la France vers un modèle social fondé sur les valeurs humanistes." The symposium focuses on France’s impact on Canada over the last 400 years. Also featured at this opening ceremony are Liberal senators Lise Bacon and Serge Joyal, and Marc Lortie, Canada's ambassador to France.
