In this episode, Pierre Donais sits down with Marcel Prud'homme. Marcel Prud'homme's political career covers a 45-year period. Independent Senator (Ret'd) Marcel Prud'homme was first elected to the House of Commons in a 1964 by-election as Liberal MP for Saint-Denis, a riding in the Greater Metropolitan Area of Montreal. He was subsequently re-elected eight times up to 1992. He served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Manpower and Immigration (1971), to the Secretary of State (1972) and to the Minister of Regional Economic Expansion (1972). He was also the Liberal Party's Critic for Arms Control and Disarmament (February 1989). He was appointed Chair of the Quebec Liberal Caucus (January 15, 1992). He was appointed to the Senate of Canada on May 26, 1993 and retired in late November 2009.
