Industry Minister Christian Paradis and Conservative MP Stephen Woodworth responded to questions about the government's austerity plans and about the closure of the Electro-Motive plant in London, Ontario. About 450 workers at the plant have been locked out in a labour dispute since the start of January. The union representing the plant's hourly workers had rejected pay cuts of 50 per cent. NDP deputy finance critic Robert Chisholm, Liberal deputy leader Ralph Goodale and NDP national revenue critic Hoang Mai commented on the latest job numbers and on the closure of the Electro-Motive plant.
