Highlights include $5.2 billion in cuts to annual federal spending; the elimination of over 19,000 federal positions; and a shift in the age of eligibility for Old Age Security and the Guaranteed Income Supplement from 65 to 67, starting in 2023. Does this budget transform government and the country? Did it go far enough—or does it go too far—in cutting spending to reduce the deficit?
