Lawrence Greenspon, the lawyer for Mohammad Momin Khawaja, speaks with reporters after a Supreme Court ruling to uphold Canada’s Anti-terrorism Act. In 2004, Mr. Khawaja became the first Canadian charged under the act. Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty holds a press conference in anticipation of his meeting with provincial and territorial finance ministers, scheduled to take place in Meech Lake, Que., on December 17th, 2013. Jason Kenney (Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism) announces that asylum claims made by refugees from designated "safe countries" will be fast-tracked within Canada’s immigration system.
