The committee continues its pre-study on Bill C-24, the Strengthening Canadian Citizenship Act. Measures include changing citizenship residency requirements, granting the government power to revoke citizenship, ensuring that applicants aged 14 to 64 meet language and knowledge requirements, and extending citizenship to so-called "Lost Canadians". Appearing in front of the committee are the Canadian Bar Association’s Kerri Froc, Christopher Veeman, and Barbara Jackman; barrister Robin Seligman; lawyer Richard Kurland; B’nai Brith Canada’s David Matas; Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI); and the Centre for Immigration Policy Reform’s Martin Collacott.
