The Trudeau government follows up on the commitment it made in Washington tobetter monitor Canadians leaving the country: A bill proposing the collection basic information from all travellers leaving Canada has been introduced in the House. However, this legislation has raised concerns forseveral organizations, including the International Civil Liberties Monitoring Group. Pierre Donais discusses this issue with the organization’s national coordinator Monia Mazigh. The following MPs debate the same topic: Joël Lightbound (Liberal Party), Pierre Paul-Hus (Conservative Party), Brigitte Sansoucy (NDP), and Luc Thériault (Bloc Québécois). The RCMP officers have begun their unionization process in accordance with Bill C-7. A Senate committee has made substantial amendments to this legislation.
