The committee continues its study of legislation to amend the Citizenship Act and repeal certain changes passed by the previous Conservative government. The first panel is made up of Lorne Waldman (an immigration lawyer), Josh Paterson (executive director of the B.C. Civil Liberties Association) and Robert D. Watt (former citizenship judge from British Columbia). Ahmed Hussen, the federal Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and senior officials Mary-Ann Hubers and Alec Attfield testify during the second part of the meeting. (March 1, 2017)
