Representatives from shipping companies are among the witnesses to testify on Bill C-30, which would implement the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union. The following witnesses testify during the first hour: Shipping Federation of Canada representatives Michael Broad (president) and Karen Kancens (director, policy and trade affairs); Kirk Jones (acting president), Serge Le Guellec (member) and Daniel Hohnstein (lawyer) from the Canadian Shipowners Association; Port of Sydney Development Corporation representatives Marlene Usher (CEO) and David Dingwall (legal counsel); and Frank Schiller (advisor, Nunavut/Nunavik Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc.). Senators then hear from Mathew Wilson (senior vice president, Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters) and Canadian Horticultural Council representatives Rebecca Lee (executive director) and Ken Forth (chair, trade and marketing committee).
