Indigenous Languages Bill: Immersion Schooling, Intellectual Property
Canadian Heritage - February 21, 2019: Representatives and members of several of Canada’s Indigenous communities share their thoughts and concerns with Bill C-91, the government’s Indigenous languages act. The act would establish an Office of Commissioner of Indigenous Languages to study and fund the revitalization of Indigenous languages. Participating in the discussion are Mi'kmaw Kina'matnewey’s Blaire Gould, University of Victoria’s Onowa McIvor, First Nation Summit’s Grand Chief Edward John, as well as Graham Andrews, an individual from the Métis Nation.
