Wet’suwet’en: Ottawa Protestors Urge RCMP Raids to End in B.C.
Indigenous youth speak with reporters in Ottawa about their protest in support of the Wet’suwet’en Nation, whose hereditary chiefs oppose the construction of the Coastal GasLink pipeline that crosses their traditional territory in northern B.C. The youth and allies from various activist groups have occupied the lobby of the Department of Justice building in Ottawa since February 10, with a group staying through the night of February 11. They are calling on Justice Minister David Lametti to order the RCMP to leave the blockade in northern British Columbia set up by members of the Wet’suwet’en Nation. Protests and railway blockades have been held across the country in support of the pipeline fight. (February 12, 2020) (no interpretation)
