Parole Board and the Circumstances that Led to a Young Woman’s Death
Public Safety and National Security - March 10, 2020: Officials from the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) answer questions about the murder of 22-year-old sex worker Marylene Levesque in Quebec. Levesque was allegedly killed by a convicted murderer who had been granted a day parole pass. Public Safety Minister Bill Blair has launched an investigation into all circumstances that led to the young woman’s death. Appearing before the committee are the CSC’s Anne Kelly and Alain Tousignant; as well as the PBC’s Jennifer Oades and Sylvie Blanchet.
