Chief Justice Wagner Speaks on the Work of the Supreme Court – June 18, 2020
In Ottawa, Chief Justice of Canada Richard Wagner holds his annual news conference to provide an update on the work of the Supreme Court. Since his appointment as chief justice in 2017, Wagner has committed to making the country's top court more accessible to Canadians. The Supreme Court held hearings outside of Ottawa for the first time in its history in September 2019, when it heard two appeals in Winnipeg and met with several communities. The court recently began holding virtual hearings during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
