Premier Ford Provides COVID-19 Update, Confirms Ont. Now in Second Wave
At Queen's Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford provides a COVID-19 update as the province hits a single-day record of 700 new cases. He announces a $52.5-million investment to recruit and retain 3,700 more frontline health-care workers and caregivers as part of the province's COVID-19 fall preparedness plan. The premier also announces that provincial health officials have confirmed Ontario is now in its second wave of COVID-19. Ford is joined by provincial cabinet ministers Christine Elliott (health) and Rod Phillips (finance), as well as Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health.
