Manitoba Update on COVID-19, New Restrictions in Northern Region – Oct. 22, 2020
In Winnipeg, Dr. Brent Roussin, Manitoba’s chief medical officer of health, provides an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. He announces that new COVID-19 public-health orders will be issued for the Northern health region and Churchill that will come into effect October 26 for a minimum of two weeks. The restrictions will be the same as those currently in place in the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region and include reducing gathering sizes and closing of casinos, bingo halls and other entertainment facilities. These new measures come as the province records an increased number of new COVID-19 cases. (no interpretation)
