COVID-19: Canada Responds
COVID-19: Ontario Premier on Government Services, Halloween - October 19, 2020
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announces an action plan to make government services simpler, easier to use, and more accessible during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. This plan includes making government services more digitally accessible and improving government purchasing by leveraging the bulk-buying power of the province. The premier also provides an update on the government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He says provincial health officials do not recommend trick-or-treating this Halloween in Toronto, Peel, York or Ottawa, while people in other areas are permitted with safeguards in place. He is joined by Peter Bethlenfalvy, president of the Treasury Board, as well as Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health. (no interpretation)
