Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics - October 19, 2020: The committee continues to debate Conservative MP Michael Barrett’s motion from two weeks ago that call for the committee to obtain records of all paid speaking appearances made by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, his mother, Margaret Trudeau, and his brother, Alexandre “Sacha” Trudeau, since 2008. The committee proceeds to debate NDP MP Charlie Angus’ amendment to drop the request to obtain records for Margaret and Alexandre Trudeau. MPs also discuss the release of new documents by the WE Charity that were published that morning.
