Environment Minister Defends Government’s Climate Record
Environment and Sustainable Development - November 4, 2020: Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson appears before the committee to defend his departmental budgets allocated in the 2020-2021 main estimates. Minister Wilkinson faces questions over his government’s progress in meeting its carbon emission targets. During the 2019 federal election campaign, the Liberals pledged for Canada to achieve a net-zero emission by 2050 and to plant two billion trees by 2030.
