Ontario Premier Announces Acceleration of Training for PSWs – February 24, 2021
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford and provincial cabinet ministers Dr. Merrilee Fullerton (long-term care) and Ross Romano (colleges and universities) provide an update on their government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. They announce a $115-million investment to train up to 8,200 personal support workers (PSWs) in a 6-month, tuition-free accelerated program available in all 24 publicly-assisted colleges in Ontario. Students will complete the final three months of their training in long-term care homes or other care facilities. (no interpretation)
