PM Trudeau Holds Discussion with Parents on Child Care
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, and Families Minister Ahmed Hussen deliver remarks at the start of their virtual discussion with parents on child care. The Liberal government's 2021 budget pledges nearly $30 billion over five years to create a national early learning and child-care system. The aim is to cut fees for regulated spaces by 50 per cent by next year and to reach an average fee of $10 a day by 2026 across the country outside of Quebec, which has its own system.
