Today was the final scheduled sitting day before the House of Commons rises for a 12-week summer break. 

The motion to extend hybrid House of Commons sittings through June 2023 passed 177 to 144 after the government moved closure this morning.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced additional Canadian funding to combat global food insecurity -- but faced questions on allegations his office and former public safety minister Bill Blair interfered in the RCMP's investigation of the 2020 Nova Scotia mass shooting.
