COVID-19: Canada Responds
Quebec Update on COVID-19 as Vaccination Begins – December 14, 2020
At a press conference at the Maimonides Geriatric Centre in Montreal, Quebec’s health minister Christian Dubé provides an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19. He is joined by federal Health Minister Patty Hajdu and federal government House leader Pablo Rodriguez, as well as Francine Dupuis, associate CEO of the regional health authority for west-central Montreal, and Dr. Richard Massé, strategic medical advisor with Quebec’s public health department. The update comes as the province begins administering the first COVID-19 vaccines. Residents at the centre and another long-term care home are the first in Quebec to receive shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Quebec Premier François Legault will announce new restrictions on December 15 for the holiday season. His government is considering the closure of stores deemed non-essential. (no interpretation)
