COVID-19: Canada Responds
At a news conference in Queen’s Park, Ontario Long-Term Care Minister Merrilee Fullerton comments on the findings contained in the report from Ontario Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk on long-term care. The report concludes that the Ministry of Long-Term Care and the long-care sector were not prepared and equipped to respond effectively to the issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The auditor general released a previous report in November 2020 that identified a number of systemic problems with both the planning and management of Ontario’s response to the pandemic.
