Govt Announces Travel Measures in Response to COVID-19

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland holds a news conference in Ottawa with ministers Patty Hajdu (health), Marc Garneau (transport), Bill Blair (public safety), Jean-Yves Duclos (Treasury Board), and Government House Leader Pablo Rodriguez to update reporters on the federal response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. They are joined by Canada’s chief public health officer, Dr. Theresa Tam, and deputy chief public health officer Dr. Howard Njoo.

The government is calling for an end to all non-essential travel, and announces new restrictions for cruise ship travel and international flights. (March 13, 2020)
