Ontario Premier Doug Ford Declares State of Emergency Due to COVID-19
In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Premier Doug Ford declares a state of emergency as the province attempts to slow the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). He is joined by members of his cabinet and Dr. David Williams, Ontario's chief medical officer of health. Ford also announces a $300-million relief fund. As of March 17, Ontario currently has the highest number of cases of COVID-19 in Canada, with nearly 200 confirmed cases. (March 17, 2020) (no interpretation)
