He also unveils the federal government’s $82-billion emergency economic package aimed at countering the economic impact of COVID-19. This financial support is in addition to the $1-billion response fund that the government announced on March 11.
The prime minister is in a 14-day period of self-isolation following confirmation that his wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, has tested positive for the virus. (March 18, 2020)
