China at a Crossroads – Panel 1

The Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights and the Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies holds a virtual conference entitled “China at a Crossroads: Standing up for Human Rights During the Pandemic.” The first panel, “China’s attempt to quarantine the truth and increasing threats against the media and journalists,” features Xiao Qiang (director and research scientist at Counter-Power Lab at UC Berkeley, founder and editor of China Digital Times), Sarah Cook (senior research analyst for China at Freedom House and director of China Media Bulletin), and Christopher Walker (vice-president, Studies and Analysis, National Endowment for Democracy).
