Speaking from outside his home in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discusses the federal government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. He provides details about the government's wage subsidy, unveiled on March 27, to assist businesses affected by the outbreak. All businesses regardless of size as well as non-profit organizations and charities with at least a 30-per-cent revenue decrease are eligible. The subsidy covers up to 75 per cent on the first $58,700 earned by an employee and is backdated to March 15.
