COVID-19: Canada Responds
Ontario Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk holds a virtual news conference to discuss findings contained in her special report on long-term care. Her report concludes that the provincial government's lack of pandemic preparedness and poor infection control practices in long-term-care homes contributed to the tragic impacts of COVID-19 on residents of these homes. The auditor general released a previous report in November 2020 that identified a number of systemic problems with both the planning and management of Ontario’s response to the pandemic.
