Alberta Expands COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout to Education Workers
In Calgary, Alberta Premier Jason Kenney provides an update on the COVID-19 situation and vaccine rollout in the province. He announces that starting May 4, Alberta’s teachers, early childhood educators and support staff can begin booking COVID-19 vaccine appointments. Premier Kenney is joined from Edmonton by Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta's chief medical officer of health. The announcement comes amid a record-breaking surge of cases in the province. Alberta is also now reporting the highest number of COVID-19 cases per capita in Canada and the United States. The provincial government has suspended the spring sitting of the Legislative Assembly for at least two weeks in response to rising cases across Alberta. (May 3, 2021) (no interpretation)
