Quebec Shortens Intervals to 8 Weeks between COVID-19 Vaccine Doses

At a press conference in Quebec City, Christian Dubé, Quebec’s minister of health and social services, provides an update on the province’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. He announces that the recommended interval between the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccine is shortened from 16 to 8 weeks. As of June 7, Quebecers will be able to book their appointments for the second dose, starting with people 80 and older. Dubé also announces that the province has reached its objective of vaccinating 75 per cent of all adults with at least one dose of the vaccine. The minister is joined by Dr. Horacio Arruda, the province’s director of public health, as well as by Daniel Paré, director of Quebec’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
