Vote 2019: Maclean's / Citytv National Leaders' Debate – September 12, 2019
Maclean's and Citytv host the first federal leaders' debate ahead of the October 21 vote. Maclean's senior writer Paul Wells moderates the debate, as party leaders Andrew Scheer (Conservative), Jagmeet Singh (NDP) and Elizabeth May (Green) face off on key election issues. Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau declined to take part in the debate. The two-hour event in Toronto focuses on four major themes: the economy, foreign policy, Indigenous issues, and the environment.
