Premier François Legault Announces 1.5-Billion-Dollar Investment in Sept-Îles
In Sept-Îles, Quebec Premier François Legault announced that the Quebec government, Hydro-Québec, and Aluminerie Alouette have reached a major agreement to supply electricity to the Sept-Îles plant, ensuring its stability beyond 2029. This agreement paves the way for a major $1.5 billion modernization project. The plant, which employs nearly 1,000 people, plays a key role in the North Shore economy. The Quebec government sees this as a strong signal for the competitiveness and sustainability of the green aluminum industry.
